Bike lifters’ gang busted in Mohali; 3 arrested
Mohali: Kharar police busted a motorcycle lifters' gang with the arrest of three persons. Police recovered seven stolen motorcycles and one tractor from their possession, said Kharar DSP Karan Singh Sandhu. They were produced in court on Friday and taken on police remand.
DSP Karan Singh Sandhu (PPS), said that based on a tip-off, ASI Bavinder Kumar and his team registered a case under section 303(2) of the BNS at City Police Station Kharar against Prashant Raghuvanshi, a resident of village Kutwa, Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh).
During the investigation of the case, a checkpoint was set up at Badala Chowk, Landra Road, to inspect vehicles. During the checkpoint, a KTM motorcycle without a number plate was stopped, and the rider, identified as Prashant Raghuvanshi, a resident of village Kutwa, Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), could not provide any papers for the motorcycle.
Prashant Raghuvanshi also mentioned his accomplices Hani Kumar, a resident of village Naniyana (Uttar Pradesh), and Rohan Pawan, a resident of Bhaiswal village (Uttar Pradesh), were also arrested.
From them, a blue Sonalika tractor, four Bullet motorcycles (black), one Platina motorcycle, one R15 motorcycle (blue), and one KTM motorcycle were recovered.
A theft case is also registered against the accused Prashant Raghuvanshi at Maloya Police Station, Chandigarh.
