In Patiala, protest over sarpanch killing

Patiala: The family members and supporters of murdered Congress sarpanch Tara Dutt held a protest near the bus stand in Patiala on Wednesday demanding immediate arrest of the accused involved in the killing. Dutt was a close associate of minister Brahm Mohindra. However, the police reached the spot on time to pacify the crowd and also managed to convince the family to cremate the body.
One protester said, “There is complete lawlessness as the sarpanch was killed in broad daylight by gangsters and the police has failed to arrest the accused. We want the accused arrested within no time.” SP City Harpal Singh said, “We have formed various police teams to arrest the accused and multiple raids are being carried out.” tnn
