PANCHKULA: Congress candidate DK Bansal and Indian National Lok Dal candidate Yograj Singh filed their nomination papers from the Panchkula constituency on Thursday. Almost all local Congress leaders did not accompany Bansal, which shows that in coming elections he would have do without their support as they were against any outside candidate.
Bansal, who reached to file his nomination papers at the SDM office, was accompanied by the supporters of his old constituency Ambala cantonment.

Others who filed their papers include Yograj Singh from the INLD, CPI (M) candidate Mehar Chand Goyal, Samajwadi Party candidate Ram Niwas and NCP candidate Kamal Kumar. An independent candidate, Raj Kumar, claiming to be the secretary of the Congress from Aggarwal community also filed his papers.
Yograj Singh, the former cricketer and actor, accompanied by his wife and INLD leaders field nomination. The INLD leader, including city president Manoj Aggarwal, former MC president Seema Chaudhary and Zila Parishad chairman Umesh Sood were present on the occasion.
Regarding his son Yuvraj Singh, who is giving Champions Trophy a miss due to fracture, he said that he was very hopeful that his son would campaign for him but it was only up to Yuvraj.
He said that he did not want to force anything upon his son. Yograj Singh disclosed his assets, including cash and jewellery worth over Rs 38 lakh, his wife Satbir disclosed that she had Rs 24 lakh in the shape of jewellery and investments.
