CHANDIGARH: Light
rain lashed the city on Monday morning, dropping the maximum temperature to 25.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum to 16.7 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum 13.6 degree Celsius. Temperatures have been falling since last week following the inclement weather. The meteorological department has forecast cloudy sky till Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to rise from Thursday.
Manmohan Singh, director, meteorological department, Chandigarh, said due to fresh western disturbance and hailstorm and snowfall in some upper areas of Himachal Pradesh, the maximum temperature has fallen. He, however, said the temperatures will rise in the next few daays.
