Soldier from Patiala dies in Assam fall
Patiala: A soldier from a village of Patiala, died in Assam during a camp operation being carried out by his team, said the family of Sehajpal Singh, 25, who joined Indian Army in 2015 as a sepoy and was promoted to the rank of Naik only ten days ago.

He was part of Punjab Regiment and died after falling down from a wooden bridge built over a river. Sehajpal, as per information, was with his team members and was on duty in a camp operation being carried out by them. He is learnt to have slipped from the bridge and fallen down into the river where his head struck a boulder. He later drowned and his body was found after an hour,” said Ranjit Singh, a cousin of Sehajpal.
He said Sehajpal was survived by father Amarjit Singh and mother Paramjit Kaur. His younger brother, Amritpal Singh (22), is also in the army and is part of 17 Punjab.
