CHENNAI: She married five times in 12 years and left each husband within months, stealing away with gold jewellery and cash she had coaxed them into gifting her.
Luck ran out for Abinaya, 32, from Madurai on Friday when she was arrested at Tambaram on the complaint of the fifth man she had married and fleeced. Her second husband, Senthil Kumar, 45, too was arrested as they were hand in glove, police said.

Police are continuing investigations as Abinaya had bought 32 SIM cards using her Aadhaar card and was using different numbers to access social media and blackmail men after luring them into sending intimate messages.
Abinaya had married Natrajan of Ranganathapuram in Tambaram in August after getting into a relationship as they were co-workers in a bakery in Tambaram. She had told him she was an orphan and so Natrajan's parents conducted the wedding at a temple in Tambaram and set them up in a separate house.
Just before Diwali, Abinaya fled with 17 sovereigns of gold ornaments and ₹20,000 in cash when Natrajan had gone to the tailor shop to pick up her new clothes. On Natrajan's complaint, police launched a hunt for the woman and nabbed her on Friday.
During interrogation, police said, Abinaya admitted she had married Vijay in 2011 and had a child with him. In 2013 she abandoned her child and Vijay and fled with 10 sovereigns of gold. She then married Senthil Kumar. They were together the longest.

Abinaya then came to Chennai and changed her name to Kayalveli and in 2020 married auto driver Panneerselvam of Kelambakkam.
In six months, she left Paneerselvam and married another man. The she again changed her name to Abinaya and joined work in a bakery in Tambaram, where she met Natrajan.
An investigating officer said that in all the cases, Abinaya cajoled her husbands to gift her gold jewellery and only ditched them once she felt she would not get any more valuables.
Abinaya and Senthil Kumar, who was arrested from OMR, have been remanded in judicial custody. Police seized four sovereigns of gold jewellery from them.
Police said that Abinaya was targeting a few more men over social media. She would blackmail them for money using messages they had sent her. Police said Senthil Kumar knew what she was up to and aided her.
