CHENNAI: Three days after a 48-year-old man employed at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) was hacked to death by a gang near Peravallur, police arrested a priest and six others in the case on Wednesday.
Janakiraman, of Rajamangalam, worked in the technical wing at ICF. He was on his way back home with a friend on Sunday night when three men on a motorbike rammed Janakiraman's bike and tried to attacked him and his friend.
While his friend managed to flee, Janakiraman was cornered and hacked to death. Inquiries revealed that Janakiraman had confronted priest Om Prakash for performing pujas in a temple in an inebriated state. Irked by this Om Prakash planned the
murder, police said.
