CHENNAI: Twenty three stranded Kenyan nationals boarded a special flight from Chennai to Mumbai on Friday for their return journey.
The Chennai-Mumbai
IndiGo flight also picked up 28 Kenyan nationals from Bengaluru and 32 from Hyderabad so that they can board their Kenyan Airways flight from Mumbai to Nairobi.
The airline operated a Delhi to Mumbai flight via Ahmedabad and transferred 114 passengers.
IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta said, “The charter was initiated in coordination with the Kenyan consulate and the Indian government to help the Kenyan citizens reach the Mumbai airport from various cities including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad."
