CHENNAI: A 55-year-old woman was murdered by her 38-year-old son, who is said to be mentally unstable, on Monday night. Police have sent the man to the Institute of Mental Health, Kilpauk for treatment.
The deceased was identified as H Neelavathy, 55, from Vaiyoor village in Kancheepuram. Her husband
Hari Krishnan, 60, sold tea while her youngest son Yoganathan, 35, lived separately.
Their eldest son Arulalan, 38, had mental health issues, police said.
On Monday night,
Hari Krishnan returned home and found his wife Neelavathy unconscious. She had a head injury caused from a stone, police said.
Kanchi Taluk police found Arulalan roaming around in a nearby village with blood stains on his shirt. He was sent to IMH for treatment. A case has been registered. tnn
