After trying his hand at films and reality shows, it looks like
Ashmit Patel is trying to clean up his act. The actor will be playing Bharat in this year’s Ramlila by Delhi’s Lav Kush Ramlila Committee. Ashmit will not be the only former 'Bigg Boss' contestants at this Ramlila.
Puneet Issar will play Ravan,
Ravi Kishan will be seen as Kevat and
Manoj Tiwari might also join them. “We have finalised a few names for this year’s Ramlila that will begin from October 1.
Among the confirmed names are Asrani, who will play Subahu, Raza Murad will be Janak, Gurleen Chopra will be Sita, Puneet Issar, who played the role of Parshuram last year, will play Ravan this year and Shankar Sahani will be Vibhishan,” says Ashok Aggarwal, chief organiser of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee. Gagan Malik, who played Lord Ram in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman has been roped in to play Ram. "Last year also he was a part our Ramlila, but only for two days. This time he will play Ram throughout the 10-day festival. We will soon confirm if Gajendra Chauhan and Manoj Tiwari will be able to participate," adds Aggarwal.
Action sequences will be the highlight of Ramlila this year, says Aggarwal. Stuntmen from Mumbai will be especially called to train the actors and conceptualise the action scenes. They are also planning to have stuntmen from Hollywood. "Since we are planning on what different elements we can add to our Ramlila this year, we haven’t finalised any names, but we are trying to get some people from Hollywood for some action sequences," says Aggarwal.
