NEW DELHI: A Class II student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a sanitation worker in a school in West Delhi. The suspect has been arrested.
Police sources said the girl had remained quiet for a few days, prompting her parents to ask her what was wrong. The minor then spoke about the incident and police was informed.
Police have found out that the man had allegedly threatened the girl with harm if she spoke out. The police have registered a case under the POCSO Act.
Delhi Police data shows that 101 rape and POCSO cases were reported in Jan. In Jan 2024, there were 134 such cases reported.
