The Ministry of Defence described the strike as “focused, measured and non-escalatory”, clarifying that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.
As per news agency PTI, the targets included JeM's headquarters in Bahawalpur and LeT’s base in Muridke.
The strike was India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.

Intelligence agencies had provided the precise coordinates of the targets. The military selected the locations to eliminate top leadership of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were allegedly responsible for plotting attacks in India.
The three services coordinated troop mobilisation and deployed special precision munitions to hit the terror camps. Of the nine targets destroyed, four were in Pakistan and five in PoK, including locations such as Bahawalpur, Muridke and Sialkot.
