NEW DELHI: The Matiala legislative assembly, a key constituency in Delhi, witnessed a high-stakes contest among AAP’s Sumesh Shokeen, BJP’s Sandeep Sehrawat, and Congress’ Raghvinder Singh.

Sandeep Sehrawat of BJP wins against Sumesh Shokeen of AAP by a vote margin of 28723.

Results for Matiala, along with the other 69 constituencies in Delhi were declared today. Known for its historical and commercial relevance, the seat falls under the Matiala Lok Sabha constituency and is designated as a general category seat.


About Matiala Assembly Constituency


Matiala, a Vidhan Sabha seat located in Delhi, is a general category seat. It falls under the West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the 10 assembly segments within the West Delhi parliamentary constituency.

In 2020, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Gulab Singh won and became MLA from this seat. He secured a total of 139010 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rajesh Gahlot stood second with a total of 110935 votes. He lost by 28075 votes.

The Matiala legislative assembly constituency had a total 424924 electors in 2020. The total number of valid votes was 261315.

In the 2025 elections, the key contenders included AAP's Sumesh Shokeen, BJP's Sandeep Sehrawat, and Congress's Raghvinder Singh. The Delhi assembly polls will be held on February 5.
