Panaji: Physical counselling for allotment of seats will be held this Friday and Saturday at the Goa University campus for 15 postgraduate programmes for 2025-26, as part of the first round of admissions for courses offered at the university and its affiliated colleges.
“If a candidate is absent when her/his name is announced, the seat offered will be forfeited. If the candidate reaches late for the counselling session after her/his name is announced, the seat prevailing will be offered to her/him. The first seat will be offered to the first rank holder. If the candidate who is ranked first is not present when her/his name is announced, she/he will lose the chance to select the seat offered for that rank, and the second rank holder will be offered the seat,” the GU notification states.
The final list of selected candidates will be declared on the university’s website by April 14.
“No proxy of the candidate shall be permitted. No parents/guardians will be permitted in the counselling hall under any circumstances,” the notification by the university states.
The counselling process will be conducted across two sessions.
“During session 1, seats shall be allotted based on the notified seat matrix. After the conclusion of session 1, vacant reserved category seats shall be transferred to the unreserved category. The resultant vacancies shall be filled in session 2.”
There will be a common counselling for the MCA, MSc (artificial intelligence), and MSc (data science) programmes.
“Selected candidates shall be admitted on a provisional basis and shall be required to pay the seat confirmation fee of Rs 10,000 online on the Samarth portal. The payment shall be accepted from April 14 to 30,” the notification states.
