Joy of reading workshop at 'Bookworm'

PANAJI: In a bid to promote the habit of reading, 'Bookworm' is conducting a workshop to 'refresh one's perspectives of reading', to be curated by Sujata Noronha. Youth Award: The directorate of sports and youth affairs invites applications for the SAARC Youth Awards 2014, on the theme 'Youth leadership in print and electronic media.' The award is open to women in the age group of 18 to 30 years and the awardee will receive a citation in English, a SAARC gold medal, a csh prize of USD 3000 and a return air ticket to the venue of the presentation ceremony. 7th Goa Marathi film fest: The Goa Marathi film festival will be held from June 6 to 8, with film screenings at Kala Academy, Maquinez Palace and Inox. Cultural fiesta to mark Environment Day: Vivekanand Environment Awareness Brigade, Keri, Sattari, in association with Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali is conducting an entertainment programme based on environment awareness themes on June 5 from 3.30 to 5.30pm in the main theatre of Ravindra Bhavan, on World Environment Day. Free anemia testing: A free anemia detection camp will be conducted at the police headquarters-Panaji on June 17 from 10 am to noon. Medical staff will perform a haemoglobin test on a total of 100 people on first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to women.

John Gracias at TAG's 'Meet The Artiste': Tiatr artiste John Gracias from Mungul, Margao, has been invited by Tiatr Academy of Goa to be the artiste for the month of June at TAG's monthly programme, meet the srtiste' to be held at 4pm on June 6 at the Black Box, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
