Three-day Gita festival to start from Dec 9
Gurgaon: The city will host Gita festival from Dec 9 to 11 at the Freedom Fighter District Council Auditorium, while the International Gita Mahotsav will be organised in Kurukshetra from Nov 28 to Dec 15.
Rajesh Khullar, chief principal secretary to the chief minister of Haryana, went on a video conference meeting with the city's deputy commissioners on Monday to review the festival's preparations.
Deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar said during the festival, an exhibition would showcase Haryana govt's welfare schemes, while numerous kiosks will be set up by self-help groups, the departments of education, health, sports, women and child development department, renewable energy, and welfare, along with Sheetla Mata Temple, ISKCON, and Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya University among others.
Additionally, several scholars will deliver lectures on Gita, and the state's rich folk culture will be displayed during cultural programmes at the event.
On the last day of the event, 18 verses from Gita will be recited and a grand procession will go around several parts of the city from 2pm.
