Actor
Naveen Kasturia, better known for his portrayal of his namesake in the web series Pitchers, was in Gurgaon recently. Naveen, who grew up in Delhi’s Amar Colony, and is now pursuing his career in Mumbai, used to work as a data analyst in Gurgaon.
“Though the public transport system is still poor, Gurgaon has developed so much since then. I used to work in the city and it’s so stupid of me that I never came to Cyber Hub.
Recently I was in the UK and roamed around the malls there, and Cyber Hub is nothing less than those malls,” says the actor who played the lead in the film Sulemani Keeda and has worked as an assistant director on films like Shanghai and LSD.
The company he used to work for changed its base from Gurgaon to Noida after few years, but Naveen says he never explored Noida much. “My parents, however, go to the malls in Sector 18 to watch movies. I also have heard a lot about the Atta Market being a shopper’s delight.”
The NSIT alumnus adds, “NCR is all about nostalgia for me.” In the web series, Naveen played the role of the quintessential boyfriend who quits his job for his startup. “It’s funny that girls come to me with expectations and then they get disappointed when they realise that I am not like my character. Also, we get a lot of startup related queries. While Pitchers have inspired many who wanted to be entrepreneurs, the team doesn’t have the solutions to their startup problems,” he says. He adds, “Since Gurgaon is fast turning out to be a startup hub, it would be great if our next season is shot here.”
