BELAGAVI: Generally, movie teams choose an auspicious day to begin the project but the team of ‘Dhangadi’ Kannada movie started shooting in Belagavi on Tuesday, an inauspicious day as part of spreading message against superstitions.
It was a new moon day and generally, no new project is taken up on this day according to Hindu beliefs. However, director-actor Sidram Karnik opted to commence the project on Bheemana Amavasya daring superstitions.
Satish Jarkiholi, crusader against superstitions was supposed to clap-start the first scene of the movie but as he was in Bengaluru in the backdrop of the demise of CM
Siddaramaiah’s son, two nomadic girls did the first clap.
According to Sidram Karnik, it’s a different movie with a strong storyline and having a message on superstitions which prompted the team to choose an inauspicious day to start the project. The movie under the banner of Parameshwari Arts will carry shooting in Belagavi, Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts of North-Karnataka region. In Belagavi, it covers Gokak and Godachinamalki waterfalls and old Rajwada at Raibag.
Producer Surendra Ugare said director Sidram Karnik will play lead role in the movie. Young actresses Kanakalaxmi, Shanti, Rajeshwari and Divya are the new faces going to be introduced in this film. Vaijanath Biradar, comic actor from North-Karnataka also playing an important role. Movie has camerawork of Veeresh and Balaji Pole is a technical director.
