BIJAPUR: The only solution to curbing environment pollution is to plant samplings, said district and sessions Judge L Subramanya, while planting samplings in the district court premises here on Saturday. He said, the legal aid shell has planned to plant one lakh trees, keeping in mind the public interest, which is a remarkable work.
The zilla panchayat CEO K H Kakanur said, "Now our air, water and food is polluted, and it is high time everyone planted trees and create awareness among our children about environment pollution."
SP K V Shridhar said, "Protecting our tress is becoming everyone's responsibility, which should not be neglected.
We should talk less and work more, only then we can reach our aim speedily.
Presiding over the function, deputy commissioner, R Shantaraj said, "Nowadays, there is lot of importance given for environment protection, so people also must join hands with government to make the land greener." Under employment guarantee scheme, the government has prepared a plan to plant of trees. But only planting tress is not sufficient, on the contrary, protecting them is also essential, he added.
Deputy conservator of forests, D C Narayanamurthy said, this year, more than 2.5 lakh sampling which were produced will be planted along the roadsides and public places.
