HYDERABAD: Three persons, including two women, surrendered before the police on Friday admitting that they were responsible for the killing of a woman in the city on March 7.
They surrendered before the ACP, Charminar, B Redanna. According to police, Ramachandra Reddy, a real estate businessman, married Uma Rani, in 2006. As they did not have any children even after a year of their marriage, he married another woman, Arundhati, much against the will of his first wife in April, 2007.
After the second marriage, Reddy kept his second wife at a new house in Srinagar Colony in Yousufguda.

Uma Rani complained to her family members that Reddy was neglecting her and was spending most of the time with his new wife. Reddy then started living with his two wives at Uma's house at N N Guda in Bahadurpura. After some time, Uma started complaining that he was neglecting her and, as an assurance, she asked him to register Rs 50 lakh worth property on her name.
According to the ACP, Ramachandra Reddy registered properties on Uma Rani's name and at the same time registered Rs 20 lakh worth properties on Arundhati's name also.
In February, Arundhati became pregnant and Reddy sold some of the properties on Uma Rani's name and deposited Rs 9 lakh on his second wife's name in a bank. Police said furious over these developments, Uma, along with her sister Nirmalamma, hired R S Ganesh from Pinjarala village in Ranga Reddy district to eliminate Arundhati for Rs 50,000.
"Ganesh and Uma Rani killed Arundhati by throttling her while she was alone at the house," the ACP said.
He said Uma Rani paid Rs 10,000 to Ganesh and asked him to collect the remaining amount later. After killing her, Nirmalamma and Uma Rani poured phenol in Arundhati's mouth to portray it as a suicide.
