In their pre-launch offer, the company had offered to sell a yet-to-be-constructed flat for 48 lakh to him.
The complainant agreed and paid full amount as per the agreement dated April 28, 2021.
However, despite several attempts to enquire about the project's progress, the company remained unresponsive and failed to initiate any refunds. The construction of the high-rise apartment complex was supposed to be completed within 36 months, with a grace period of 6 months from the date of the final project approval.
The commission said Sahiti Infratec failed to produce any evidence of progress of the project, leading to an order for refund of entire amount with 9% interest.
The company was also directed to pay a compensation of 50,000 and costs of 5,000.
In the other cases, Chaluvadi Sridhar was granted a refund of 21 lakh and Yarlagadda Sravanthi got a refund of 33.2 lakh, with both being awarded a compensation of 50,000 and cost of 5,000.
