HYDERABAD: Five persons, including two students, were killed in separate road accidents in the city and its outskirts since Sunday. A second-standard student died on the spot after the scooter on which he was travelling was hit by a lorry near Chevella on Sunday. Chevella police said that G Mahender, 7, a resident of Shabad in Rangareddy district, was going to Chevella with his father G Srisailam to attend a function when the incident took place.
Police said the condition of Srisailam, who is undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital, is said to be critical.
Mahender was a student of Government High School in Shabad.
G Dilip Reddy, 22, a final year engineering student, died after he fell off his motorcycle at Lower Tank Bund on Sunday. He died while he was being shifted to the Gandhi Hospital. Gandhinagar police said the Dilip, a resident of L B Nagar, was going to the Airport when the he lost control and fell off the motorcycle. Police said Dilip was a BE student of PRRM Engineering College in Rangareddy district.
P Samba Chary, 26, a resident of Premvijaya Nagar Colony in Malkajgiri died after the scooter he was riding was knocked down by another two-wheeler at IDA Mallapur on Sunday. Nacharam police said that Samba Chari, a private employee, was going towards Mallapur on some personal work along with his friend T Balamurali when the accident took place.
C Narayana, 20, a resident of Kisti Chaman in Asifnagar, died after the scooter he was riding was hit by a lorry near Asifnagar police station on Sunday. Asifnagar police said Narayana, a businessman, was returning home when the incident took place.
Jayooji, 35, a native of Karnakata, died after a DCM van hit him in front of Kamineeni Hospital at L B Nagar on Sunday. L B Nagar police said that Jayooji, a flower merchant, was crossing the road when the incident took place.
