HYDERABAD: A woman allegedly killed her two children before dying by suicide at Jeedimetla on Thursday. Police identified the woman as Tejaswini Reddy, who is believed to have attacked her sons—Arshith Reddy, 11, and Ashish Reddy, 9—with a sickle inside their kitchen.
The children were found in a pool of blood by their father later in the day. According to officials, a suicide note purportedly written by Tejaswini was recovered from the scene.
In the note, she cited ongoing health issues affecting her and her children, as well as family-related distress, as the reasons for the extreme step.
Jeedimetla police rushed to the scene following an alert by locals and found the bodies of the two children inside the house. Tejaswini's body was recovered outside the residence. Locals, who first found her body, informed her husband.
A case of murder has been registered, and an investigation is underway to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
