HYDERABAD: A junior assistant, Ch Raj Kiran, in the office of deputy director, Survey & Land Records, Nampally, was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigators while allegedly accepting Rs 7,000 bribe on Tuesday.
According to the ACB, Raj Kiran demanded Rs 7,000 from Azhar Abdul Lateef, a resident of Banjara Hills, for clearing a file related to demarcation of 300 square yards of land.
Abdul Lateef wanted to demarcate the plot he purchased from Sri Venkateshwara Housing Society, Shaikpet. Lateef approached the ACB and the sleuths caught the official red-handed. The tainted amount of Rs 7,000 was recovered from the assistant's trouser pocket. The right hand fingers and the inner flap of the pocket yielded positive result when subjected to a chemical test.
Raj Kiran was arrested and produced before the additional special judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad.
