INDORE: The Govt Railway Police (GRP) on Monday filed an FIR against two unidentified persons for allegedly abusing and assaulting a 23-year-old man on Bhopal-Indore passenger train for watching Reels related to the
Pahalgam terror attack.
GRP TI Rashmi Patidar told the media that based on the youth's complaint, a case was registered against two unknown persons under sections 118 (1) (intentionally causing hurt by dangerous means), 296 (abuse), 351 (criminal intimidation), and other relevant provisions of BNS.
She said that the complainant underwent a medical examination and efforts are underway to identify the accused using video and CCTV footage of the incident.
"As per the complaint, he boarded the Bhopal-Indore passenger train from Shujalpur on the night of Saturday. After passing Dewas, two unidentified persons objected to him watching Reels about the Pahalgam terror attack on his mobile phone," Patidar said, adding that according to the complainant, both unidentified men began arguing with him, accusing him of watching Reels while looking at them and provoking them.
"Over the same, a fight ensued between them," the police official said, adding that as per the victim, the accused told him that they reside in Indore's Chandan Nagar area. The official confirmed that a detailed investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
