Indore: A man allegedly attacked his wife to death with a flat iron griddle in Tonkkhurd area of Dewas after a family dispute on Wednesday night. The police said that the accused struck her multiple times on the head and face, which led to her death on the spot, after which he fled the scene.
The incident took place in Salkhedi village of Dewas when 35-year-old Swaroop Solanki attacked his 30-year-old wife, Sanjana, and then fled the scene. The police were alerted soon after the incident. ASP Jayveer Singh Bhadoria confirmed the details of the assault and said that a forensic team conducted a site inspection on Thursday morning.
Police have launched a manhunt and formed teams to search for the accused in Tonkkhurd area and nearby locations. While the exact motive is yet to be confirmed, initial investigations suggest that the murder stemmed from ongoing domestic tensions. Authorities are continuing their efforts to arrest the accused and gather more information.
The neighbours said that the couple used to fight with each other over financial issues. Swaroop studied for competitive examinations but started selling vegetables after he could not secure a job. They claimed that they fought every now and then. The couple lived in a small room and had set up a kitchen inside the room itself, where the woman was found lying with her head crushed.
Tonkkhurd police station in-charge Alok Soni said that the reason behind the incident is not clear yet. He said that they lived with Swaroop's family members. The body of the woman was handed over to the family members after a post-mortem examination and further investigations were underway.
