Maharashtra were heading towards Shahpur on a motorcycle with intentions to defraud people using counterfeit currency. A team was formed and sent to the spot. The accused, Praveen Rathore (21) and Sagar Rathore (27), residents of Umare Kura Kakoda village in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, were found loitering suspiciously near the dhaba.
Upon searching them, police found the concealed firearms and fake currency notes. They would pack real Rs 500 notes at the top and bottom of the bundle and fill the middle with fake notes. During the exchange, they would create panic by shouting "police, police" and flee the scene with the real money, leaving behind the fake notes.
