Indoreans are leaving no stone unturned in celebrating the ongoing Ganesh Utsav. And while the celebration is still on, we created a list of Indori Pandals that are a must-visit before Ganesh Utsav gets over. These pandals, which are designed on various innovative themes, are visited by scores of devotees every year, during the festival.
Indoreans visited ‘Indore ke Raja
Based at Gandhi Hall, the 12 foot Ganesh idol captivates with its charm.

Along with the idol, even the pandal is an epitome of lavishness as it is a 150 foot replica of Sanwariya Seth temple of Rajasthan. Kushal Shah, an engineering student, says, “I visited Lal Baug Cha Raja last year and was mesmerised by its beauty. I got the same feeling after visiting Indore ke Raja this year. I was initially sad that I was unable to visit Lal Baug Cha Raja this year, but after visiting Indore ke Raja, I feel like I have visited both.”

Replica of the proposed Ram Temple of Ayodhya
Dussehra Maidan, famous for its Dussehra celebration, has made sure that even Ganesh Chaturthi celebration has an element of Ram in it. The pandal at Dussehra Maidan is a replica of the proposed Ram temple of Ayodhya. A huge eco-friendly Ganesh idol would be placed inside the pandal for devotees. Mohit Vyas, a young professional, says, “I was amazed to see the pandal as the organisers have made sure that they incorporate every single detail. It seems like a permanent structure and Ram has chosen Indore as his destination. I wish after the Ganesh Utsav is over they don’t remove the pandal and place Ram's idol inside it.”

Witness Jaisalmer in Indore
Jaisalmer is always known for its extraordinary designs and lavish temples. And this Ganesh Utsav, Indoreans have got a wonderful chance to witness Jaisalmer in Indore. The pandal at Jairampur Colony is designed on the theme of Jaisalmer temple. Even the Ganesh idol inside the pandal is similar to the idol of Shrinathji of Rajasthan. Khushi Jain, a devotee, says, “This is the most creative pandal I have seen. I was surprised to see the Ganesha idol posing like Shrinathji. Also, the Jaisalmer theme has made it more lavish. This pandal made me revisit memories of my Jaisalmer trip.”
Social awareness at its best
Most of the pandal organisers have made sure that they create social awareness during Ganesh Utsav. Be it the pandal at Jairampur Colony or Rajwada, one can spot different sign boards, jhankis, etc, encouraging different social initiatives like blood donation and eye donation. Few pandals are even talking about Indore’s smart city project and Indore as the cleanest city in India. Rajesh Sahu, one of the organisers, says, “The main motive of starting Ganesh Utsav was to bring society together. We want to revive that culture, so we always create pandals that propagate social awareness about various subjects. This year we have adopted the theme of Swachh Bharat so that people understand the importance of cleanliness.”
