Diya Kumari lays foundation stone for hospital at Jhotwara
Jaipur: Deputy CM Diya Kumari Wednesday laid the foundation stone for a new 100-bed satellite hospital at the site where Jhotwara Panchayat Samiti office used to be in Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency.
The satellite hospital was approved in the 2024-25 state budget. Residents of Jhotwara and nearby areas have to transport patients to hospitals such as SMS Hospital and Kanwatia Hospital in Jaipur. The satellite hospital would reduce that dependence, she said.
"It will be a multispecialty hospital. At least seven specialty doctors will be deployed here," said Dr Ravi Shekhawat, chief medical health officer (Jaipur I).
Health department has sanctioned various posts for the hospital, including two senior specialists in medicine and surgery, ten junior specialists across different departments, two senior medical officers, seven medical officers, one dental medical officer, six grade I nurses, 38 grade II nurses, two pharmacists, four radiographers, one dental technician, and support staff. In total, govt has sanctioned 100 posts, and one post of man with machine has also been sanctioned. The cleaning work of the hospital will be outsourced, said officials.
The satellite hospital will be of help in case of accidents in areas such as Kalwar Road, Niwaru Road and Sikar Road by ensuring timely treatment. During seasonal outbreak of diseases, patients will not have to rush to SMS Hospital.
Patients currently have to rush to Kanwatia Hospital at Shastri Nagar for emergencies at night as there is no govt hospital in Jhotwara and nearby areas where treatment is available at night.
