JAIPUR: Jaipur: A division bench of Rajasthan High Court on Monday sought the original record of the selection process for the posts of professor and associate professor followed by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) as per the 2015 advertisement. The bench has also stayed the previous order of the single bench of the high court that had asked the RUHS to release the list of selected candidates.

Order was passed by the bench, comprising chief justice Ravindra Bhat and Justice G R Moolchandani, on a special appeal filed by the RUHS, challenging the previous order of the single bench.
Earlier, on a petition filed by one Asrar Ahamad, who sought the declaration of results from the university, the single bench had asked the university to compile the result and list of selected candidates and release the same. However, the RUHS maintained that a committee that was supposed to give its recommendations to the university has not given any list or recommendations of the selected candidates.
“In our appeal we maintained that the selection for the post of teachers and officers in the universities in Rajasthan is governed by Rajasthan University teachers and officers (selection for appointment), 1974. As per section 3 of the Act 1974, no appointment can be made on the post of teachers and officers without the recommendation of selection committee and any appointment made otherwise shall be treated null and void,” said Ravi Chirania, counsel from RUHS’ side told TOI.
He added that the court was also informed about section 6 of the Act of 1974, which says that the committee is required to give recommendations, and prepare the final selected list and waiting list.
“As the committee did not follow the procedure as provided under the Act of 1974, the statutory body of the university, the board of management did not accept the result due to which the selection process went into litigation,” Chirania added.
