Kanpur: A free metro ride for the underprivileged children

On the second day of the ‘Swatantrata Saptah’ (11-17 August) under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Kanpur Metro on Friday organised a free Metro ride for the underprivileged children from the non-governmental organization Adarsh Academy Society.

KANPUR: On the second day of the ‘Swatantrata Saptah’ (11-17 August) under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Kanpur Metro on Friday organised a free Metro ride for the underprivileged children from the non-governmental organization Adarsh Academy Society. 21 children and staff of the organization traveled from SPM metro station to Motijheel and back to SPM.

On this occasion, children presented a dance performance based on patriotic song which included Yogmudras. Children also participated in drawing competition at Motijheel metro station.
The 75th anniversary of Independence is being celebrated with great joy across the country. On this occasion, ‘Swatantrata Saptah’ has been organized by Kanpur Metro in which programmes related to patriotism are being organized every day.
These programmes have been arranged in such a way that everyone can be a part of this festival.
On Friday, Kanpur Metro celebrated this festival with the children of the non-governmental organization Adarsh Academy Society by organising a free metro ride. These children in the age group of 4 years to 12 years were very excited to travel by metro in their city. Before starting the metro journey, the operations team of Kanpur Metro apprised the children about the working and rules of the metro. Tricolour was also distributed to the children on this occasion. Children raised patriotic slogans after boarding the metro train and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the city and the metro journey.
At Motijheel metro station, children showed their artistic side and participated in a drawing competition.
During this, children made pictures based on environmental protection and national symbols. At the end of the competition, children also presented a special dance performance in which they performed various yogmudras one after the other on patriotic tunes.
