‘Changing landscape of UP is being observed worldwide’

Kanpur: UP Legislative Assembly speaker Satish Mahana emphasised the importance of enhancing women's participation in legislative bodies, their effective presence, and their role in spreading positive messages throughout society.
He was speaking at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone 1 conference for women legislators from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"The changing landscape of Uttar Pradesh is being observed worldwide, with discussions happening across the country and the globe, and women legislators played a significant role in this transformation. This conference will send a message across the nation that other states should also organise such conferences," Mahana said.
Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan highlighted women's vital contribution to increasing representation in legislative proceedings and bolstering parliamentary democracy. "Women are progressing in all areas of society. The members present at the conference are also representing the women from their regions who are raising their voices from the parliament to the streets and inspiring other women across the country to make their presence felt in various fields," she said.
Former Uttarakhand governor and state minister Baby Rani Maurya delivered the closing remarks, expressing appreciation to all attendees.
