Kottayam: Police examined the Pathanamthitta district collectorate after the collector received a fake email threatening that a highly explosive pipe RDX bomb was planted inside the building on Tuesday. The collector received the email from the ID of Asifa Gafoor around 6:48am. Dog squads and bomb squads rushed to the site after the collector alerted the district police chief. The entire staff was evacuated from the building and the squads conducted an inspection. However, nothing was found in the inspection. The district police chief said that a detailed probe would be held.
Apart from this, the district cyber police wing examined the emails received by the collector in detail. The crux of the message was that the district collectorate would witness a deadly bomb blast in memory of the unjust hanging of Afzal Guru. The message also stated that the moment of the hanging continues to leave many hearts heavy. tnn
