KOLKATA: Over the years, actor Dipankar De has been a regular Tollywood representative at Trinamool’s martyrs' day rally on July 21. However, this year, his absence has led to a lot of speculation. Prominent among them is the apprehension that he has fallen out with some members who had organised a meeting before the polls and had included his name without seeking his permission.
De, at that time, had openly expressed his reservations on this issue too.
However, the actor doused the speculation saying his absence shouldn’t be misconstrued. “I was busy shooting at Indrapuri studio. Since the episode banking is a problem, I couldn’t cancel my shoot to attend the rally,” he said.
However, many from Tollywood and the serial industry had cancelled their shoots to be there. Couldn’t he have done that too? “Shootings were held in Tollywood today. To be very honest, I have no hard feelings for Trinamool. In fact, I have all the good wishes for our chief minister.”
