Mob fury, lathicharge after DYFI leader's murder

Bhimraj Tewary, 24, a DYFI leader, was killed when miscreants fired at him thrice from close range at Khas Kenda More under Jamuria police station around 5.30pm on Saturday. He was declared dead at Asansol sub divisional hospital.

ASANSOL: Bhimraj Tewary, 24, a DYFI leader, was killed when miscreants fired at him thrice from close range at Khas Kenda More under Jamuria police station around 5.30pm on Saturday. He was declared dead at Asansol sub divisional hospital.
After the incident, angry DYFI and CPM supporters blocked National Highway 60 at Khas Kenda More for several hours.

A police team, led by Asansol ASP V Soloman Nesakumar, lathicharged to disperse the crowd.
Five policemen have been injured when the mob threw stones at them. As a result of the blockade, traffic was disrupted on the Suri-Pandaveswar Road. Police detained nine persons for attacking them. However, the killers are yet to be traced.
Locals said that Tewary was chased by few people after some altercation and they shoot at him thrice from close range and fled away. He fell on the ground. Local people rushed and carried him to Asansol SD Hospital.
Jamuria DYFI and CPM leadership has alleged that criminals patronized by Trinamool Congress killed Tewary. Tomorrow CPM has called black day in Jamuria and Raniganj. The situation is tense.
Asansol MP, Bansa Gopal Choudhury blamed Jamuria Police for the murder. " Our MLA of Jamuria, Jahanara Begum has shot letters to state government several times to seize huge illegal arms of Jamuria are abut neither the police nor administration is keen to seize arms and ammunitions. Otherwise the incident would have been avoided," he added.
