Mrinal Sen hospitalised

KOLKATA: Celebrated filmmaker Mrinal Sen met with an accident at his residence on Friday afternoon and had to be hospitalised. The 87-year-old filmmaker underwent a minor surgery on Saturday and is expected to return home by the end of next week.
His wife Gita Sen said: "He tripped and fell down on Friday. We immediately rushed him to a private nursing home where some tests were done.The doctors decided to go for a hip surgery. The operation has been successful and he is recovering well. We will be able to bring him back home by the end of next week."
