KOLKATA: Mass movement had brought Kabir Suman to the Trinamool platform. Now, he wants to use the same to garner sympathy for the tribals' cause within his party.
Speaking at a programme on Tuesday evening at the University Institute Hall, the Jadavpur MP said that pressure could be exerted on the Trinamool chief to raise voices against Operation Green Hunt.
"A mass movement can be organised to pressure Mamata Banerjee to raise her voice against Operation Green Hunt.

This operation is against the people. There are 20 MPs and if we can bring about a motion stating we are against Operation Green Hunt, it will send a message. Are Maa, Mati, Manush absent in Lalgarh?" Suman said.
"We can hit the streets and put up posters. This is possible. Why should there be any ideological differences? We support UPA but not Operation Green Hunt," Suman said.
Suman's latest outburst is likely to cause an embarrassment to the Trinamool leadership. Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee had once described him as a "guest and outsider" after he publicly vented ire against a section of the party leaders over use of MPLAD funds.
"For Singur and Nandigram, so many people had come out on the streets. Why not for Lalgarh? If Operation Green Hunt can be stalled even for a few days, it will be a big victory," Suman said.
Suman reiterated that he wasn't being heard. "Since I'm not a career politician, nobody is listening to me," he said.
