KOLKATA: Eight months after a Sinthee-based dance teacher with a well-known ballet group in the city had accused the owner of private school bus and his henchmen of threatening her with acid attack, the Barangar police has arrested the accused bus owner, Abhijit Majumdar, in the wee hours of Thursday.

Cops said that he was arrested following a fresh complaint from the victim, where she alleged that her husband was assaulted and she herself was threatened again.

Earlier, the woman had daredtocomplain tothelocalRTOs about a condemned schoolbus that the accused was allegedly running with fake number plates to ferry students to a reputable English-medium school in Liluah. The woman’s son also used to travel in the schoolbus.
In the fresh FIR lodged with Baranagar police 48 hours ago, the woman had alleged that goons had gathered near her residence on Sunday night and damaged two cars. They also threatened her son and assaulted her husband while they were heading to the police station, claimed the woman.
The Baranagar police said: “The accused has been arrested and forwarded in court after the allegations were found to be true,” said an investigating officer.The bus owner denied any such incident. “I carry out a business in the area andthewoman wantstostop this at any cost. She lodges complaints against me with malicious intentions,” he claimed. The woman said she is planning to move court.
