LUCKNOW: The state police headquarters removed deputy superintendent of Police Rupendra Kumar Gaur on Wednesday.
He was relieved of his charge as Mahsi police circle officer following a report submitted to the DGP headquarters, which highlighted his complete negligence in the discharge of duties.
Due to this negligence, Gaur has been removed from his position as the circle officer of Mahsi in Bahraich.
Ravi Khokhar has been appointed as the new circle officer of Mahsi.
The Mahsi Tehsil in Bahraich is where clashes occurred on Sunday and Monday.
Senior police officials clarified that Gaur has not been suspended but has been temporarily relieved of his duties pending further investigation.
