Discussion, mushaira to mark 10th death anniversary of Kaifi Azmi

LUCKNOW: On the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of noted Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi, All India Kaifi Azmi Academy is organising a discussion on 'Urdu and Ganga-Jamuni tahzeeb' at the academy premises at Paper Mill Colony, Nishatganj on Monday from 5.00 pm.
Film script writer and poet Jawed Akhtar and daughter of Kaifi Azmi Shabana Azmi will be the chief guests on the occasion.The Kaifi Azmi Academy in association with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd is also organising a mushaira at Vishveshwarya auditorium, opposite Raj Bhawan on Monday at 8 pm. Governor BL Joshi will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
Appeal: Shiv Shankar Tripathi and Hari Om Sharma, national president and state president respectively of the All India Small Newspapers' Association have appealed the political parties to support Jagdish Gandhi, an educationist and former MLA as the presidential candidate. They said that besides being secular, Jagdish Gandhi believes in the ideology of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam' and has been spreading this philosophy across the globe.
