Lucknow: Newly-elected BJP
MLA from Rampur Akash Saxena on Friday launched a sharp offensive at former SP lawmaker Azam Khan calling him an “Aalii Janab” (esteemed) who, during the previous SP regime got a 3.5 Kms long bridge constructed in Rampur to commute between his house and Mohammad Ali Jauhar trust.
Speaking on the floor of the UP assembly for the first time, Saxena went on to claim that “Aalii Janab” in fact, organised a seven-day long ‘jashn’ (party) to celebrate the coming of the bridge.
“He never told anyone that this was the only bridge in the country which neither passed over a river or a railway line,” he remarked.
He also slammed Khan for wielding “uninhibited power” to get centuries old Alia Madrassa closed and its primeval documents and textbooks shifted to his Jauhar university’s library.
“Sarkari paise ka durupyog kya hota hai iske liye aap humare Rampur aaiye...,” he said, flaying SP chief Akhilesh Yadav for levelling false charges against his party for misusing government funds.
Saxena claimed that Khan once called all his party MLAs and MPs and “forcibly” took funds from MLA/MP Local Area Development Fund for his university.
“The SP lawmakers then remained silent but today they are making false allegations against the BJP,” he further said.
