Lucknow: The UP special task force on Thursday arrested three members of a gang manufacturing and distributing forged mark sheets, certificates, registration papers, transfer certificates and verification documents. The arrests were made near Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya School on Mohan Road, under Para police station.
Those arrested were identified as Altaf Raja (resident of Gokulgram), Krishna Kumar Srivastava (resident of Sneh Nagar) and Lakshya Rathore (resident of Faizullaganj). The STF team seized 51 forged documents of various educational boards and universities, two laptops, four mobile phones, four fake rubber stamps, a Hyundai Venue car (UP32-PV3159) and a Honda CBZ motorcycle (UP32-ED4635) from the accused.
STF officials said that credible information was received regarding a gang producing fake educational documents in Lucknow. Acting on this tip-off, an STF team led by inspector Anjani Kumar Pandey located the suspects near the school, and the team arrested them.
Pandey said that during interrogation, Altaf revealed that the gang specialised in creating forged educational documents. He disclosed that he previously collaborated with one SP Pandey in Delhi to operate fake websites that appeared authentic for mark sheet verifications. Altaf admitted to being arrested in 2017 by Geeta Colony police in Delhi for similar crimes.
After serving his sentence, he resumed his illegal activities in Lucknow alongside Lakshya, who was previously jailed in a similar case in 2019 under Delhi's Chanakyapuri police station jurisdiction, said Pandey. Pandey said that the accused used domains such as bhsedelhi.org, bhsenewdelhi.org, technoglobaluniversitymp.org and several others to create convincing fake websites that displayed fabricated results for their clients.
