Lucknow: Life and struggle of a writer was depicted in the play ‘Bhuvneshwar Dar Bhuvneshwar', staged on last day of the 3-day ‘Regional Theatre Festival' organised by UP Sangeet Natak Akademi at its auditorium on Wednesday.
Staged by Shahajhanpur's theatre institute Gaganika, the play is written by Meera Kant and directed by Kaptaan Singh Karnadhar. It focuses on the literary and social struggle of the Bhuvaneshwar Prasad Srivastava, who was a famous Hindi one-act playwright, author and poet. He has depicted the ironies of the middle class in his works. He was born in a middle-class family in Shahjahanpur in 1910. ‘Tambe ke Keede' is his one-act play collection. He died in 1957.
The main roles were played by Azam Khan, Mohammad Fazil Khan, Salochna Karki, Sanjeev Rathore, Anurag Sharma, Shashi Bhushan Johri and Kaptaan Singh Karnadhaar. Akademi chairman Jayant Khot, vice chairperson Vibha Singh and director Shobhit Kumar Nahar were present on the occasion.
