Women Power Line’s 3-day fest
Lucknow: UP Police's Women & Child Security Organisation 1090, began a three-day Women Fest on Women's Day on Saturday, inaugurated by its ADGP Padmaja Chauhan. Exhibitions showcased merchandise of female entrepreneurs affiliated with ODOP/SUDA and self-help groups.
There was Rajasthani folk music too and stalls vending delicacies. Acid attack survivor Meena Soni, founder of Red-Brigade Usha Vishwakarma, social worker Varsha Verma who voluntarily conducted last rites during Covid-19, entrepreneur Alka Gurnani and a woman journalist were felicitated. A theatrical rendition depicting Rani Laxmi Bai's life and a performance by Aaghaz Women's Band were other highlights.
Subsequent two days will feature cultural programmes on women's empowerment performed by female artistes.
