AIADMK didn’t seek Annamalai’s removal: Sellur Raju
Madurai: AIADMK did not demand the removal of Annamalai from BJP state president's post, said former AIADMK minister and Madurai West MLA Sellur K Raju. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a foundation stone-laying ceremony in Achampathu on the outskirts of Madurai on Friday.
"It was their decision, and AIADMK has no role in it. We don't interfere in the affairs of other parties," Raju said adding that they were neither happy nor sad that Annamalai was removed. Raju said everything about the coalition would be finalised before the assembly elections and the party's general secretary would decide on it.
He criticised minister Ponmudi for his comments on women, stating that he has been speaking ill about women and particular communities regularly. "He assumes that he has public support because crowds are mobilised for his events," he said. Raju said the DMK govt has not achieved anything to go back to the people asking for votes. The govt continues to make mistakes, and it would only turn worse as the election nears, he added.
