Forgetting dharma led to unrest in world: Joshi
Mangaluru: The Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt follows the principles of food, education, spirituality, and health as a vow. Through this, the mutt has extended support for those in need, said Union minister of consumer affairs Pralhad Joshi, expressing his appreciation.
He was speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt Mangaluru branch, held on Thursday at the BGS PU College premises in Kavoor, in the context of the golden jubilee of the enthronement of Jagadguru Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji.
"Walking on the right path is dharma. Forgetting dharma led to unrest in the world today. Children should be taught about dharma, spirituality, culture, and worship. The 71 monks of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt diligently implemented public welfare," Joshi said.
Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda, speaking at the release of the book on Vokkaligas on the coast, mentioned that Balagangadharanatha Swamiji used to say that all those who farm are Vokkaligas. The coastal Vokkaligas have always walked the path of truth and never troubled others. They have a unique tradition and culture. The Vokkaliga community needs to work unitedly, Gowda said.
Sri Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, head of the Adichunchanagiri Peetha, Sri Dharmapalanatha Swamiji of the Adichunchanagiri Mangaluru branch, Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta, and Mangaluru City North MLA Y Bharath Shetty were present.
