MUMBAI: The trial in murder case of actress Priya Rajwansh commenced in a sessions court with the prosecution examining three witnesses on Monday.
Ketan Anand and Vivek Anand, sons of noted film maker late Chetan Anand, and their servants Mala Choudhary and Ashok Chinnaswamy are accused in this case.
Except Mala, who could not be produced due to lack of escort policemen, all others were present before the court.
Police Inspector Subhash Jadhav, who had lodged FIR after Priya was found murdered in the residence of Chetan Anand on March 7, 2000 was the first witness to depose before judge S P Nikam
Two others who were examined on Monday were Rajendra Hake, a draftsman of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation who had drawn maps of the scene of offence, and a woman before whom the clothes of accused Mala Choudhary were seized.
Deposing before the court, inspector Jadhav said he was informed by Ketan Anand that his family friend had collapsed in the bathroom of Chetan Anand''s bungalow and later died. Thereafter he rushed to the scene of offence and found Priya''s body on a cot, Jadhav told the court.
Finding injury marks, he informed his superiors and the body was sent for post mortem.
