MUMBAI: A Brazilian woman who smuggled around 1 kg of cocaine worth Rs 11 crore, hiding it in her body from Sao Paulo, was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai airport on Friday.

Acting on specific intelligence, the DRI officials, along with the Customs officials, intercepted the woman after she landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

After seeking the court's permission, she was admitted to JJ Hospital for an X-ray, which confirmed the presence of a foreign substance in her body. She was admitted to JJ Hospital, where she purged 106 capsules weighing around 1,096 grams.
