‘Dead body’ in MUV boot? Youths detained over reel drama in Navi Mumbai

NAVI MUMBAI: Four youths were detained by the police for creating a nuisance by making a video reel where one of them was in a moving MUV's boot with one hand hanging out, creating the impression for passers-by that someone was either being kidnapped or there was a dead body inside the boot.

ACP (crime) Ajay Landge said that on Monday around 6.30 pm, an MUV with a human hand hanging out of its boot was spotted on the stretch of road between Vashi and Sanpada railway stations. This was captured by a motorist who circulated it on social media.

As the police keep a vigil on social media content posted by influencers, a search operation for the MUV was carried out. Within two hours, the MUV was found parked outside Haware Fantasia Mall near Sanpada railway station, and the youths were detained.

They have been identified as Minhaj Shaikh (25), Shahawar Shaikh (24) and Inzamam Shaikh (25), all residents of Koparkhairane, and Mohammad Shaikh (30), a resident of Mira Road.
