MUMBAI: A woman flyer was arrested on Saturday for disobeying an order duly promulgated by a public servant and her Indian passport impounded after the immigration officials at the Mumbai International Airport found multiple entries and exit immigration stampings at Yemen Airport.
Sahar police said the flyer identified as Jamila Siddiqui came to Mumbai to travel to Aurangabad when she was stopped by the Immigration officials on suspicion.
Sahar police arrested the woman and her passport has been impounded for further probe. The woman said that she married Nabil Bin Siddiqui in 2014 who works and resides in Yemen and this is the reason she has got the Yemen stampings on her passport.
The Government of India has banned Indians from flying to Yemen since 2017. The travel ban was imposed after terrorists abducted, Father
Tom Uzhunnalil, a Kerala priest, from Aden in 2016.
Siddiqui came to India to meet her family after a long time. She told the police that she is unaware of the ban notification issued on September 26, 2017, which says due to security issues Indian citizens are banned from traveling to Yemen.
